Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the first top-10 player confirmed for the second edition of the Millennium Estoril Open. The name of the “musketeer” was announced this Monday by the tournament’s organization on Facebook.
Ranked 9th in the world, Tsonga was no. 5 back in 2012 and has 12 singles titles in his résumé, but is still looking for his first clay title. Five years ago, in his first appearance in a tournament held in Portugal, he lost his first match at the “old” Estoril Open to no. 61 Pablo Cuevas in two sets.
The frenchman is the fifth player confirmed for the 2016 Millennium Estoril Open (which so far has only announced players from world’s top-40), joining Gilles Simon, Nick Kyrgios, João Sousa and Borna Coric.
